Juan Perez Named International League Batter of The

DUBLIN, Ohio - Louisville Bats infielder, Juan Perez was named the International League Batter of the Week for April 17-23, the league announced Monday. Perez is currently riding a 12-game hitting streak and had four multi-hit games last week. Perez hit .407 (11-for-27) for the week with three doubles, two home runs - an inside-the-park home run - and stole two bases. He led the league with 11 hits, five extra-base hits and 20 total bases. When the week began, Perez had a .296 batting average; it now sits eighth best in the league at .352 (19-for-54). Perez smacked two home runs on April 20 against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a three hit performance, his first multi-homer game since 2012 in Dayton. He joined Phillip Ervin as Bats' with a multi-homer game this season. He is among the IL leaders in total bases (34, T-1st), slugging percentage (.630, 3rd), on-base percentage (.435, 4th) and batting average (.352, 8th).
