Jumbo Shrimp Roster Moves - April 24

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Miami Marlins announced a pair of transactions that impact their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp roster prior to today's game against the Birmingham Barons at Regions Field at 12:30 p.m. ET.

Outfielder Alex Glenn has been transferred from Short Season Class-A Batavia to Jacksonville. Glenn has played in 14 games for the Jumbo Shrimp this season, hitting .163 with no home runs and six RBI.

In a corresponding move, outfielder Cal Towey been placed on the disabled list. Towey played yesterday for the Jumbo Shrimp and collected a double in his first at-bat before he left the game with injury after his hit. Towey had previously been on the disabled list with Triple-A New Orleans to begin the season.

The Jumbo Shrimp roster stands at 25 active players, and a revised roster is attached.

The Jumbo Shrimp and Barons will continue their series with the third game of the five-game set on Monday at Regions Field at 12:30 p.m. ET. Right-handed pitcher Omar Bencomo (2-0, 1.13 ERA) will start for Jacksonville against Birmingham right-hander Spencer Adams (0-3, 3.86 ERA).
