Kalamazoo's Pitt Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Josh Pitt of the Kalamazoo Wings is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for March 20-26.

Pitt scored four goals and added four assists for eight points in three games last week.

The 24-year-old was held scoreless in a 3-2 win against Florida on Wednesday then notched a hat trick while adding an assist in a 5-3 victory over Norfolk on Friday and posting another four points (1g-3a) in a 5-3 win against the Admirals on Saturday.

A native of Brockville, Ontario, Pitt has 34 points (18g-16a) in 44 games with the K-Wings this season.

Prior to turning pro, Pitt had 36 points (13g-23a) in 115 career games at Western Michigan University.

On behalf of Josh Pitt, a case of pucks will be donated to a Kalamazoo youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 35,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
