Adirondack Thunder News Release

WHO: Adirondack Thunder (35-20-7-4) vs. Orlando Solar Bears (34-23-6-3)

WHAT: ECHL REGULAR SEASON GAME

WHEN: Tuesday, March 28, 2017 @ 7:00 PM

WHERE: Glens Falls Civic Center - Glens Falls, NY

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The Thunder continue their push for the playoffs this evening as they host the Orlando Solar Bears for the second straight home game. Adirondack won the previous meeting last Tuesday by a 4-2 final and is coming off of a five-point week that also included three points in Reading. Orlando completed a weekend sweep of the Brampton Beast on Sunday and come to Glens Falls on a three-game winning streak.

WIN AND WE'RE IN: Adirondack can clinch a Kelly Cup Playoff berth for the second straight season with a win tonight over the Solar Bears. The Thunder currently sit at 81 points in the North Division Standings as they sit atop the division, nine points clear of fifth place Wheeling. The victory would also see the Thunder become the first team in the division to clinch a playoff berth.

DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I'M FEELING 52: In the last meeting between these two teams, Adirondack netminder J.P. Anderson made a franchise record 52 saves in the 4-2 Thunder victory. Anderson, who was named the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for his performance two weeks ago, is now 14-4-4 on the season with a .914 save percentage and a 2.66 goals against average.

GLASS HALF CULL: Thunder forward Cullen Bradshaw scored the overtime game-winning goal in Friday's win over Reading, the first overtime goal of his ECHL career. The 5-11 forward scored again on Saturday in Reading and has collected four goals and eight points over his last seven games played. The 5-11 center has now amassed 20 points (6-14-20) in 24 games played with the Thunder this season, including five multi-point games.

TOP GUNN: Thunder forward Gunnar Hughes set a career high for points in a season as he collected his 23rd on Saturday in Reading. The 6-1 winger picked up his 12th assist of the season on Orszulak's first-period goal. Hughes now has 23 points this season (11-12-23), one more than the 22 (11-11-22) he had during the 2015-16 campaign as a rookie.

TRICK ORSZ TREAT: Thunder forward Austin Orszulak scored the first goal of his professional career on Saturday, as he knotted the game at one late in the first period. Orszulak has picked up three points (1-2-3) and a +4 rating in nine ECHL games this season. The Springfield, MA native joined the Thunder from American International College and holds single-season program records for goals and points in a single season.

ALONG CAME POLLOCK: The Thunder received reinforcements at forward yesterday as forward Brett Pollock was reassigned to the team from the Stockton Heat. Pollock, 20, has appeared in 55 games with Adirondack this season and has amassed 29 points (13-16-29). The 6-3 forward did not appear in any game action in his most recent stint with the Heat but has collected a goal in three career AHL games.
