Pensacola Blue Wahoos News Release

A Note From Quint Studer

It's a beautiful day for a ballgame, for a ballgame today. The fans are out to get a ticket or two from Walla, Washington to Kalamazoo.

Growing up in a Chicago Suburb I can recall those words from that song played before each Cubs game. Just hearing the song, I already felt an excitement of being at a game. Or in many cases listening to the game on my transistor radio. While technology has changed, the feeling that baseball provides us has not.

That is the positive feeling we want each of you to feel when you hear the Blue Wahoo name, see a Wahoos shirt or cap, the sight of Blue Wahoo Stadium, the shout of "WAHOO" as you head up the stairs and that magical feeling at the top of the stairs when you look over Admiral Fetterman Field. That positive feeling that the Wahoos Life is a good one.

We have always seen the Blue Wahoos experience as more than a baseball game. The goal is to create a neighborhood at the stadium. A place to see old friends, make new friends, catch up on the latest news and feel a shared bond. That bond of being part of something special.

We strive to be a place to make memories. Even in the most difficult of times. A few months ago, I received an email with a photo from a father of his daughter at a Blue Wahoos game with a large smile. He wrote that his daughter was terminally ill and they knew she did not have long to live but she wanted to go to a Blue Wahoos game. She passed away after last season. He thanked the Blue Wahoos staff for helping his daughter have great experience. I will never forget that photo and that smile on his daughter's face. That is why we exist. To do whatever we can to make a difference.

On behalf of all of us on the Blue Wahoos team, thank you. Your attendance at games provides us with the opportunity to make a difference. We never take that for granted. We look forward to seeing you in the neighborhood this season.
