As part of the foundation's efforts, the 4th edition of the Wings for Life World Run is set for May 7, 2017 where runners and wheelchair participants join a s imultaneous global race that is t ruly unique. Instead of a finish line, people take off side by side to keep ahead of a Catcher Car.

There are three North American locations set for May 7, 2017 - in Sunrise, Fla., Santa Clarita, Calif. and Guadalajara, Mexico. In addition, an app run feature allows anyone/anywhere to run with the world via the Wings for Life World Run app, available in the App Store. In New York City, people can gather together in beautiful Central Park by downloading the app and staying ahead of a virtual Catcher Car as long as they can. The race starts at exactly 7 am local time. The virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at approximately 9 MPH and steadily increases its speed until the last participants have been caught.
