Cougars Sign Chance Adrian

Prince George, B.C. - Prince George Cougars General Manager Todd Harkins announced today that the Cougars have signed 1999-born forward Chance Adrian (Dalmeny, SK) to a Standard WHL Player Agreement.
The 17-year-old checks in a 6'0" and 174 pounds and is coming off a season where he scored 19 goals along with 27 assists for 47 points in 43 games with the Saskatoon Contacts (SMAAAHL). Adrian served as a co-captain of the Contacts and helped lead them to a second place finish at the 2017 Mac's Major Midget Tournament in Calgary. During the 2015-16 season, Adrian contributed 10 goals and 22 assists in 39 games with the Contacts and added two goals and an assist during the 2016 Telus Cup. Previously he was drafted by the Red Deer Rebels in the seventh round (142nd overall) in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft, but was added to the Prince George Cougars protected list in December, 2016.
"We are very excited to add a player of Chance's calibre to our organization," said Cougars General Manager, Todd Harkins. "He was one of the best forwards in all of Saskatchewan Midget hockey and his teammates, coaches, and our scouting staff have all raved about his commitment and leadership."
Harkins adds, "He's a great skater, he competes extremely hard and we definitely see him stepping into our lineup next season and contributing in a number of important ways. He's going to be a key piece of our future and we're thrilled to have Chance and his family join the Prince George Cougars today."
The Prince George Cougars will begin the 2017 WHL Playoffs at home on Friday night against the Portland Winterhawks. Game 2 of the Best-Of-Seven first round series goes Sunday at 5:00 PM before Games 3 and 4 take place in Portland on Wednesday and Thursday next week.
