Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release

PENSACOLA, Fla.- Prior to today's Southern Professional Hockey League trade deadline, the Pensacola Ice Flyers acquired center Massimo Lamacchia from the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs in exchange for right winger Riley Spraggs.

"It's always a tough day when you have to move a good player but we believe we received a good player as well," stated Ice Flyers head coach Rod Aldoff. "The addition of Massimo helps our depth up middle. He's played well all year for Roanoke and that shows with him being near the top of the league in scoring. We believe that this was an area where we needed to improve and you have to give up a lot to get a lot."

Lamacchia is a second-year pro and a native of Vaughn, Ontario. At the time of the trade, he was Roanoke's leading scorer with 14 goals, 22 assists, and 70 penalty minutes (PIM) in 41 games played. His 36 points tie him for third in the SPHL in scoring.
