Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release

PENSACOLA, Fla.- The Pensacola Ice Flyers will retire the number of former captain and two-time Southern Professional Hockey League President's Cup champion Adam Pawlick on Friday, March 31, when the Ice Flyers take on the Knoxville Ice Bears at 7:05 p.m. Pawlick and his #25 will join fellow former captain and President's Cup champion Dan Buccella as the only players in franchise history to receive this honor.

"I want to thank (former Ice Flyers head coach) Rod Aldoff for giving me the opportunity to live out my dream of playing professional hockey," said Pawlick. "I also want to thank (Ice Flyers owner) Greg Harris for running a first-class organization and rewarding me with this unbelievable honor. I owe a huge thanks to all my teammates as well. Last but not least, I want to extend a 'thank you' to the best fans in the SPHL and I look forward to being back in the Hangar."

As a member of the Ice Flyers, Pawlick was on the team that won the SPHL's William B. Coffey Trophy for the 2013-14 regular season championship as well as the 2014 and 2016 President's Cup championship teams. Pawlick was named to the All-SPHL First Team in both the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons and in 2014-15 Pawlick led the Ice Flyers and the entire SPHL in points with 66 in 56 games. Pawlick was named Easton Co-Player of the Week for the week of March 14-20 during the 2015-16 season, an honor he shared with teammate John McLean.

Harris stated, "Adam was a class act and a true professional the moment he stepped foot in Pensacola. His production and two championships were the products of his commitment to and attitude towards the game and his team. Adam is extremely deserving to have his number hang from the rafters and it's an honor to have him be a part of the Ice Flyers organization forever."

In 168 career regular season games, Pawlick scored 85 goals, had 84 assists, 82 penalty minutes, and a team-record +55 and in 17 playoff games, he had four goals, five assists, two penalty minutes, and +9. Pawlick led the Ice Flyers in goal scoring in 2013-14 (27) and 2014-15 (32). His 85 goals in an Ice Flyers jersey makes him the franchise leading in that category while his 169 points has him second in scoring. Pawlick's 168 games played also ranks second in franchise history.
