Syracuse Silver Knights News Release
While looking like the better team for periods of both matches, the Syracuse Silver Knights came up a little short on its trip to the Midwest over the weekend.
Syracuse built three-goal leads against both clubs via a combination of crisp passing, fluid movement and good finishing.
Unfortunately, the Silver Knights failed to hang on for a road win in either match, and the losses make this Friday night's match versus the Heat a crucial game for Syracuse and its hopes of making the playoffs.
The goods news is that the Silver Knights are still within striking distance of their rivals. If the team can start a win-streak, Syracuse will be right back in the mix in the MASL Eastern Division. Here are the current standings:
While the losses certainly stung, there were some bright spots for Syracuse. Midfielder Stefanos Stamoulacatos got his first goal for the Silver Knights against Kansas City. We even got a shot of that to share with you, courtesy of Jeff Husted at the MASL. Well done, Stefanos!
Midfielder Antonio Manfut also had a good weekend. The 5-foot 3-inch Manfut surprisingly scored via a header, one of three goals he tallied against Cedar Rapids in the 11-9 loss to the Rampage.

Your Silver Knights return to the friendly confines of Dave and Buster's Field this Sunday, Jan. 29, for a 1 p.m start versus the Chicago Mustangs.
