Raptors 905 Cuts Down Nets to Close Day Three of Showcase

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario- The Raptors 905 (18-7) defeated the Long Island Nets (9-17), 111-104, to close out Day Three of the 2017 NBA Development League Showcase.

Raptors 905 led the game wire-to-wire and by as many as 14 en route to its sixth consecutive win. All four times that Long Island got within one possession were met with a response by the showcase hosts.

Edy Tavares led Raptors 905 with a double-double of 18 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks in 33 minutes. C.J. Leslie also tallied a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds with two blocks in 27 minutes. Will Sheehey added 18 points and seven boards in 34 minutes. Axel Toupane provided an all-around effort of 13 points, seven boards, six assists and three steals in 22 minutes off the bench.

The Nets were paced by Trahson Burrell's 19 points on 9-of-10 shooting in 32 minutes. Yogi Ferrell had 17 points and six assists in 38 minutes. Chris McCullough chipped in 14 points, eight boards and two steals in 24 minutes. Beau Beech scored 15 points in 21 minutes of relief.

Long Island caps off its Showcase with a matchup against Grand Rapids on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 8:30 p.m. ET on Facebook Live. Raptors 905 won both of its Showcase games and will next host the Texas Legends on Jan. 25 at 11 a.m. ET on Facebook Live.
