Brantford Bulldogs News Release

HAMILTON, ONTARIO. On paper it was a game they should have won, but the Hamilton Bulldogs had to work for a 4-2 win over the last place Barrie Colts at FirstOntario Centre Friday night.

The young rebuilding Colts got the only goal of the first period to take a 1-0 lead after the opening twenty minutes.

The Bulldogs got their offense in gear by outscoring Barrie 3-0 in the second period. Will Bitten (17) scored with Michael Cramarossa picking up the assist to tie the game 1-1. Matthew Strome (24) scored on the power-play to give Hamilton a 2-1 lead with Bitten and Niki Petti getting the helpers. Strome (25) scored again to make it 3-1 on a set-up from Brandon Saigeon.

Barrie didn't give up and scored early in the third to cut the Bulldogs lead to 3-2, but Strome (26) completed the hat-trick with an empty net goal after unselfish plays from Cramarossa and Bitten who gave up shots at the empty net to set-up Strome.

Dawson Carty got the win in the Hamilton net and is now 4-1 since being acquired just after the holiday break.

Hamilton's season record improves to 21-17-3-2 with their home record back at .500 at 9-9-3-2.

The Bulldogs host the Kingston Frontenacs at FirstOntario Centre Saturday night at 7 pm.
