Mavericks Game Preview - January 20 at Quad City

January 20, 2017 - ECHL (ECHL)
Kansas City Mavericks News Release

MOLINE, Ill. - Tonight the Missouri Mavericks are set to kick off a three-in-three weekend on the road against the Quad City Mallards. The series will wrap with a pair of home games for the Mavericks on Saturday and Sunday. Missouri is looking to win back-to-back road games for the first time since Nov. 26 and 27 at Indy.

WHO: Missouri Mavericks (14-17-6) at Quad City Mallards (19-16-2)

WHAT: Season Game #38, Away Game #24

WHEN: Friday, January 20, 2017 at 7:05 p.m.

WHERE: Allen Event Center - 1201 River Dr., Moline, Ill. 61265 . Broadcast carried live on www.missourimavericks.com, Missouri Mavericks mobile app and ECHL.TV. Live gameday Tweeting at @MoMavsGameDay. Away game watch parties are hosted by Twin Peaks in Independence and the Blue Line in River Market. The Mavericks are facing the Mallards tonight for the fourth of 10 meetings this season and the second of five at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. The Mavericks are 1-2-0 against the Mallards this season after a 3-2 triumph on New Year's Eve. The Mavericks and Mallards have not left either fan base with much of their fingernails remaining thanks to their season series. Each of the first three games has been decided by a single goal, and the game-winning goal in two of those contests has been scored in the third period. Jumping out to an early lead has been tumultuous, as well, because the team to score first has seen its opponent come back to tie or take the lead in two prior games. The Mallards enter action tonight 3-7-0 in their last ten while the Mavericks have gone 4-5-1 over the same stretch.

ONE-TIMER

Darren Nowick's three-game point streak (2g, 2a) is tied for his longest of the season. He is the only Maverick player that has skated in all 37 games this season and Nowick has at least one point in 20 of them.
