Checkers Players to Deliver Teddy Bears at Hemby

CHARLOTTE, NC - Charlotte Checkers players will visit Novant Health Hemby Children's Hospital on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. to personally deliver stuffed animals donated at the team's annual Teddy Bear Toss that took place on Dec. 17.
The team collected more than 1,000 stuffed animals from fans, who were encouraged to throw them on the ice following the Checkers' first goal that night. In the last five years, the Checkers have collected and donated more than 11,000 stuffed animals.
Novant Health Hemby Children's Hospital is located at 200 Hawthorne Lane, Charlotte, 28204, inside Presbyterian Medical Center. Media interested in covering the event must RSVP by calling or texting the Novant Health media cell at (704) 617-2631.
Media is to park in the PET Imaging lot to the right of the hospital. Tell the parking attendant that you are there as member of the media. A bar must be raised to enter the lot. Once parked, enter the hospital and locate the Hemby Children's elevator (near the cafeteria), and call the media cell phone. A member of the PR team will meet you and escort you.
