SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes selected University of California forward Christian Thierjung with the sixth selection in the third round (No. 50 overall) and University of Washington goalkeeper Auden Schilder with the sixth selection in the fourth round (No. 72 overall) of the 2017 Major League Soccer SuperDraft, presented by adidas, via league-wide conference call on Tuesday.

Thierjung, 22, comes to San Jose after four seasons at Cal, where he appeared in 73 games (49 starts) and tallied 27 goals and seven assists. As a senior, Thierjung was named First-Team All-Pac-12, Third Team All-Far West Region and Second Team Academic All-Pac-12, after being selected First-Team All-Pac-12 and Second-Team All-Far West Region in 2015. The Dove Canyon, Calif. native recorded 25 goals and seven assists over his final three seasons with the Golden Bears, starting in 49 of his 53 appearances.

Thierjung also played for the Quakes' PDL affiliate Burlingame Dragons FC during the 2016 season, tallying two goals in five total appearances.
