Atlanta Trades for Veteran Defenseman Rawlyk

DULUTH, Ga. - The Atlanta Gladiators announced Tuesday that the team has acquired defenseman Rory Rawlyk from the Florida Everblades in exchange for cash considerations. Rawlyk, 33, brings 658 professional games played in the AHL, ECHL, and various European leagues to the Gladiators roster. The Edmonton, AB native has spent the majority of his 14 year pro career in the ECHL skating in 314 games with 156 points and a plus-19 rating. In addition to his regular season totals, the veteran has appeared in 59 pro playoff games amassing 25 points in those contests. So far during the 2016-17 campaign with the Everblades, the 6-foot-5, 218-pound d-man has notched two points and a plus-one rating in 14 games. In separate transactions, the Gladiators released forward Mike Moran and defenseman Ryan Michel from their standard professional contracts.
