Sunday, January 22, 3 p.m. - Elmira Jackals - SNHU Arena - WEEK IN REVIEW The Monarchs played two games against the Adirondack Thunder last week, and came out with a 2-0-0-0 record.

Friday night, the Monarchs began home-and-home with the Thunder in Glens Falls, N.Y., and came away with a 7-6, come-from-behind overtime victory. The Thunder jumped out to a 2-0 lead and then a 5-2 cushion before the Monarchs offense exploded. Beginning with a Matt Leitner goal at the 18:06 mark of the second period, the Monarchs scored four-consecutive goals to take a 6-5 advantage. With 6.5 seconds remaining in the game, however, Dana Fraser scored the equalizer for Adirondack and sent the game to overtime. In the extra session, Quentin Shore won the game with his 11th goal of the season. In the game, 13 different skaters scored, and the game set the high-water mark for total goals in a game for the Monarchs this season.

The Monarchs and Thunder played again Saturday night, but this time from SNHU Arena. Manchester jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but Adirondack scored twice to tie the game heading into the second period. A Monarchs scoring avalanche produced four-consecutive goals for the second straight night, that proved to be too much for the Thunder, who mustered a lone goal in the final frame to end the scoring at 6-3. Craig Wyszomirski netted two goals in the game, including his first as a professional, and Zac Lynch found the twine in his return from the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL).

WHERE WE STAND The Monarchs (49 pts.) begin their four-game week atop the North Division by five points over the Brampton Beast, and four points behind the Eastern Conference leading Florida Everblades. Manchester starts the week nine points clear of Adirondack and 28 points ahead of Elmira.

LEADING THE WAY Daniel Doremus is the leader in the clubhouse after Daniel Ciampini's call to the Ontario Reign (AHL) with 30 points on five goals and 25 assists. Doremus leads the team in helpers while there is a four-way tie for the lead in goals among Quentin Shore, Ciampini, Joey Diamond and Jordan LaVallee-Smotherman who all have 12 markers.

QUIETING THE THUNDER The Monarchs have taken two straight games from the Thunder and have been scoring at a stunning pace. Manchester has potted 13 goals in the last two meetings between the North Division rivals, after scoring 11 total goals during their four-game Florida road trip.

With the new playoff structure in place for the 2016-17 season, if the season were to end today, the Monarchs and Thunder would square-off for the second-straight post-season.

KINGS OVER JACKS The Monarchs and Jackals are complete opposites in the North Division. The Monarchs enter the week first in the division in points, goals and goals against, while the Jackals are dead last in each of those categories. Elmira has shown fight in their five head-to-head matchups, however, as the Monarchs only hold a 3-2-0-0 record against the last-place team in the ECHL.

TICKETS The Monarchs return to SNHU Arena on Friday, Jan. 20 (7 p.m.) when they begin a three-game series with the Elmira Jackals.

The Monarchs will host the annual LA Kings Night on Saturday, Jan. 21 (6 p.m.), when they will salute their parent club, but also the former Monarchs on the Kings roster. Come early, as the first 4,000 fans will receive a complimentary Tyler Toffoli bobblehead at the door!
