Previewing This Week

Mon., Jan. 16 at Allen - 1:05 p.m. | Home vs. ALN (1-1-0), Away vs. ALN (0-3-1)

The Mavericks' chase for a Kelly Cup playoff berth will be largely impacted by how the season series with Allen plays out. The Mavericks enter play this week holding three games in hand against Allen, which afford them the best opportunity to make up ground compared to any other playoff eligible Mountain Division team. Additionally, there are seven remaining head-to-head matchups between the Mavericks and Americans - more for Missouri than any other Mountain Division opponent. The Mavericks have dropped their four decisions in Allen by a combined 18-7 score as opposed to out-scoring Allen by a combined 5-4 score through two games in Independence.

Fri., Jan. 20 at Quad City - 7:05 p.m., Sat., Jan. 21 vs. Quad City & Sun., Jan. 22 vs. Quad City | Home vs. QC (1-0-0), Away vs. QC (0-2-0)

The season series between the Mavericks and Mallards has left fans of both teams without many fingernails. Each of the first three games has been decided by one goal, and the game-winning goal has been scored in the third period in two of the first three games. Additionally, the team that has scored first has seen its opponent come back to either tie the game or take the lead in two of the three games. The Mavericks hope to continue their home dominance of the Mallards this week. The Mavericks were 6-0-0 against the Mallards last season, including the playoffs, and have not lost at home to the Mallards since March 29, 2015.
