Westchester Knicks to Host Star Wars Night at Westchester County

WHITE PLAINS, NY, Dec. 8, 2016 - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, will host its first-ever Star Wars Night with the Westchester Knicks, presented by Chase Freedom Unlimited, tonight, Dec. 8 at the historic Westchester County Center as the team takes on the Delaware 87ers at 7:00 p.m.

Players will wear special uniforms during the game, with the jerseys and shorts featuring a First Order Stormtrooper, a character from the movie "The Force Awakens." During the game, a silent auction featuring the jerseys will be held with proceeds from the auction going to Toys for Tots, a U. S. Marine Corps Program that distributes toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community.

Fans are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys for Tots for Tots - Westchester and will receive a free ticket to a future select Westchester Knicks game for each toy donated, courtesy of Toys"R"Us.

Throughout the game, fans will have the opportunity to take photos with costumed Stormtroopers from 501st Legion: Empire City Garrison while testing their Star Wars knowledge during timeouts. Additionally, the Westchester Knicks Dancers will be performing a special Star Wars routine.

The first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive "Glow in the Dark" Thundersticks, courtesy of Chase Freedom Unlimited, while the first 250 kids ages 16 and under will receive a Star Wars Mini-Lego Set, courtesy of Toys"R"Us.

Every Thursday home game is ‘Student Night.' Students with valid College ID can purchase up to two $10 tickets at the Westchester County Center Box Office for Thursday home games. This Thursday, fans that dress up in Star Wars costumes or apparel can also take advantage of this special $10 ticket deal.

The game will be nationally broadcast on ESPNU and will also be available to stream live through WatchESPN and the ESPN app.
