Drive Completes Trade with Erie

-BRUCE MASSEY IN-EXCHANGE FOR RETURNING PLAYER RIGHTS TO NNANNA EGWU- *GRAND RAPIDS, MICH - Dec 7, 2016* - The Grand Rapids Drive, the NBA D-League Affiliate of the Detroit Pistons announced today that the team has completed a trade with the Erie BayHawks, the NBA D-League Affiliate of the Orlando Magic.

The terms of the trade are the Grand Rapids Drive sends Bruce Massey to the Erie BayHawks in-exchange for the returning player rights to Nnanna Egwu.

Egwu, 24, is a 6-foot-11, 250-pound, center from University of Illinois (2011-2015) who after going undrafted in the 2015 NBA Draft joined the Orlando Magic for the 2015 NBA Summer League and signed with them in September 2015. After appearing in five (5) preseason games, he was waved and then acquired by the Erie BayHawks, the NBA D-League Affiliate of the Orlando Magic for the 2015-16 season where he averaged 9.16 points, 1.32 blocks, and 7.18 rebounds in 50 games (50 starts). In July 2016, Egwu re-joined the Orlando Magic for the Orlando Summer League and then played for the NBA D-League Select Team in the Las Vegas Summer League. He is currently overseas playing for the Cairns Taipans this season in Australia.

The Drive tip-off tonight, December 7 at 7 PM (doors open at 6PM) as they host the Sioux Falls Skyforce (7-2) for the first time this season. Tonight's game is the Drive's $2 Wednesday's presented by Meijer that will feature $2 general admission tickets, $2 beer and soda, $2 large popcorn. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the door.
