The Regina Pats (19-2-4-0) look for a third straight win Tuesday, when they visit the Kootenay ICE (6-17-6-1). Puck drop is at 8 p.m., Regina time, at Western Financial Place. The Pats were last in action on Sunday, in Swift Current, beating the Broncos 6-3. The ICE were in Portland on Saturday and got 55 saves from Payton Lee in a 3-2 win over the Winterhawks. Tonight is the fourth and final meeting of the season between these two clubs. The Pats are 2-0-1-0 in the first three matchups. The game can be heard on 620 CKRM with Bennett Dunlop Ford Pats Hockey beginning at 7:35 p.m.

Lead Up: Big Third Pushes Pats Past Broncos Sunday

The Regina Pats scored five goals in the third period, doubling up the Swift Current Broncos 6-3, on Sunday, at the Credit Union Iplex. The game was scoreless after one and then tied 1-1 after two. In the third, the Pats jumped out to a 3-1 lead on goals 21 seconds apart. The Broncos responded with a pair in 23 seconds to tie the game 3-3. Dawson Leedahl scored 10 seconds later and the Pats added two more to win 6-3. Adam Brooks led the way with a goal and two assists, Leedahl scored twice and Connor Hobbs, Sergey Zborovskiy and Austin Wagner each had two point outings. Sam Steel made his return to the lineup and had an assist and was a plus two. Tyler Brown stopped 24 of 27 shots for his 12th victory of the year. The Blue and White improved to 19-2-4-0 overall.

Head to Head

Tonight is the fourth and final meeting of the season between the Pats and the ICE. The Pats hold a 2-0-1-0 record in the season series. The Pats have outscored the ICE 18-10 in the first three games. Nick Henry leads the team with five goals and eight points while Sam Steel, Dawson Leedahl and Connor Hobbs each have six. Zak Zborosky has scored four times for the ICE, while Matt Alfaro has two goals and two assists in the season series. Against Kootenay, the Pats powerplay is five for 15 (33.3%) and the penalty kill 15 for 17 (88.2%). The Pats have outshot the ICE 166 to 95 in the three games.

Zborovskiy Player of the Week

The Pats defenceman and New York Rangers signed prospect was named the WHL Player of the Week on Monday. The 19-year-old from Moscow Russia had three goals, six assists and was a plus 10 in two games, both Pats wins over Prince Albert and Swift Current. Zborovskiy had a career night Friday at home to the Raiders, scoring twice and adding five assists, he was a plus 8 in the Pats 12-2 victory. Zborovskiy is currently tied for 10th in WHL defence scoring, tallying 25 points in 22 games. He also leads the league at plus 39.

Ahl World Juniors

Regina Pats forward Filip Ahl has been named to Team Sweden's selection camp roster for the 2017 World Junior Hockey Championships. The fourth round pick of the Ottawa Senators in 2015 is in his first WHL season. He has scored 17 goals and has 14 assists for 31 points which is second amongst all rookies. The Jonkoping, Sweden product is tied for first in the WHL with five game winning goals, and is tied for fourth with nine powerplay markers. Ahl is the fourth member of the Pats to be named to a World Junior Selection Camp roster this year. Sam Steel (CAN), Austin Wagner (CAN) and Sergey Zborovskiy (RUS) the others.
