CHECKING THE RIVALRY
The Mavericks are facing the Cyclones tonight for the first of four meetings this season, and the first, and only, at U.S. Bank Arena. The Mavericks are 2-0-0 against the Cyclones all-time after grabbing back-to-back wins on December 18 and 19 on home ice last season. This marks Missouri's first-ever visit to play the Cyclones. The Mavericks have been strong on the road of late with a 4-1-1 mark in their last six away from Silverstein Eye Centers Arena, and have scored four goals or more in four of those contests. Cincinnati, meanwhile, is 1-2-2 in its last five at home and has given up three goals or more in each of those games. Tonight is Cincinnati's first game back home after a three-game trip, and the second of four in a row on the road for Missouri.
ONE-TIMER The Mavericks are playing their 14th road game of the season tonight. That is tied with Allen and Kalamazoo for second most in the league behind Reading at 16. The Royals are the only team of that group with a record above .500.
