Iowa Signs Mike Weber to AHL Contract

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Wild General Manager Brent Flahr announced on Friday the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed defenseman Mike Weber to an AHL Standard Player Contract (SPC) for the 2016-17 season.
Weber, 28 (12/16/87), initially signed a professional tryout agreement with Iowa on Oct. 20, 2016. He has suited up in 18 regular season contests for the Wild this season, scoring one goal and totaling three points, to go along with 40 penalty minutes. Weber is a veteran of 351 games in the National Hockey League (NHL), having spent the bulk of his time with the Buffalo Sabres. The 6-foot-2, 217-pounder played in 45 NHL games last season, suiting up in 35 games for Buffalo and 10 games for the Washington Capitals. In 45 games, Weber scored one goal and totaled five points, to go along with 60 penalty minutes. For his NHL career, the Pittsburgh, PA native has nine goals and 44 assists for 53 points in 351 NHL games. The 10th year pro has also played in 199 AHL games between the Iowa Wild, Rochester Americans and the Portland Pirates. Over that span, the blueliner has eight goals and 38 assists for 46 points, to go along with 465 penalty minutes.
The Iowa Wild continues a seven-game road trip through December 3. The team plays games in Chicago, Manitoba, Charlotte and Grand Rapids. The Wild returns back to Des Moines to welcome the Milwaukee Admirals on Tuesday, Dec. 6. The game is Kids Eat Free Tuesday, sponsored by 96.5 Country and Goodhue Nolte Insurance. All kids 12 and under eat free with (1) Crash's Kids Meal, which includes one hotdog, one soda, one popcorn, one fruit snack and an Iowa Wild prize. Fans may also bring in their Subway receipt to purchase a ticket for only $5.

The Iowa Wild 2016-17 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center: and runs from October through April. The Wells Fargo Arena box office is open Monday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday.
