Memphis Redbirds News Release

MEMPHIS, Tennessee - The Memphis Redbirds are offering multiple season and mini-membership packages for the 2017 campaign, which represent the next chance to secure a ticket to the "Battle of the Birds" exhibition between the Redbirds and St. Louis Cardinals on March 30, 2017 at AutoZone Park.

Season memberships are available in full, half and quarter packages, and all three include a "Battle of the Birds" ticket. In addition to the games, season members receive numerous other perks, including, but not limited to:

- the chance to purchase additional "Battle of the Birds" tickets

- a St. Louis Cardinals ticket voucher for the 2017 season

- guaranteed gate giveaways

- priority for playoff and special event tickets

- the opportunity to watch a fireworks show and a batting practice from field level

The Redbirds also have two different mini-memberships available, which include five Redbirds games plus the "Battle of the Birds." Both memberships include Opening Day on April 11, as well as multiple Saturday night fireworks games.

Season and mini-membership packages are currently the only ways to obtain "Battle of the Birds" tickets.

The March 30 meeting between the Cardinals and Redbirds will be the ninth since the clubs began a player development contract in 1998, with the 2017 season marking the 20th year of affiliation between the two organizations. The Cardinals are 5-2-1 against the Redbirds and winners of five-straight since 2004, including most recently in 2015 with an 8-1 win in front of 9,827 fans at AutoZone Park.

2016 In Review A total of 324,581 fans attended Memphis Redbirds games at AutoZone Park during the 2016 season, which is nearly a 17 percent increase over its total of 278,579 for the 2015 campaign. The percent increase for the season was fourth in all of Minor League Baseball, and the per-game change of 667 fans led the minors.

The figures were helped by seven sellouts during the season, including Saturday, Aug. 27, when an AutoZone Park post-renovations record crowd of 11,041 jammed the stadium. The ballpark was renovated in the 2014 offseason to its current configuration. In 2016, the Redbirds went from averaging just over 4,000 fans per game to more than 4,700 per contest.

The Redbirds' final weekend included a celebration of the 10 millionth fan to enter AutoZone Park since it opened in 2000, as well as a visit from President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter as part of the closing ceremony of Habitat for Humanity's Carter Work Project.
