CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars, announced Tuesday the team has signed forward Travis Ewanyk to a professional tryout agreement.
Ewanyk (oo-WAH-nihk), 23, has appeared in 203 career AHL games over the past three seasons with the Oklahoma City Barons and Binghamton Senators. This season, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound forward has appeared in four games for the Stars' ECHL affiliate, the Idaho Steelheads, with a goal and three assists.
The North Vancouver, B.C. native is a former third-round pick of Edmonton Oilers (74th overall) in 2011.
The Texas Stars are the primary development affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars, and are currently playing their eighth season at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
