The Canadian Football League announced Tuesday that Hamilton Tiger-Cats defensive end John Chick has been named a Shaw CFL Top Performer for Week 18.

Chick, 33, recorded five defensive tackles, two quarterback sacks and one forced fumble in overtime in Hamilton's 39-36 win against the Ottawa Redblacks at TD Place on October 21. The 6-4, 254-pound native of Gillette, Wyoming, has started all 16 games for the Tiger-Cats this season, registering 35 defensive tackles, four tackles for loss, 13 quarterback sacks, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and four pass knock downs. Through 18 weeks, the Utah State University product ranks third in CFL sacks (13) and tied for third in forced fumbles (4).

The three players were chosen by a panel of judges who independently send their selections to the CFL head office.
