Ottawa Senators Assign Phil Varone to Binghamton

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Ottawa Senators announced today that the club has assigned forward Phil Varone to the Binghamton Senators. Varone is expected to play this Wednesday for the B-Sens in Utica.

 

Varone, 25, appeared in three games for the Ottawa Senators to start the 2016-17 season, including an overtime win over Toronto on opening night. The 5-foot-10, 186-pound forward was acquired by Ottawa in a seven-player trade with Buffalo last February. After arriving in Binghamton last season, Varone recorded 23 points in 21 games. 

 

Binghamton is on the road this Wednesday to face the Utica Comets before returning home on Friday to host the Syracuse Crunch at 7:05 p.m. inside Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena. On Saturday, the B-Sens will head to Hershey to face the Bears at 7:00 p.m.
