THE FUEL REVIEW: Confronting the unenviable assignment of providing the role of opposition on their initial three-game foreign ice expedition of the season for three different league member clubs celebrating their respective home opening night extravaganzas, the Indy Fuel completed the rather interesting odyssey with a 3(1-2-0) mark. After extracting a hard-earned 2-1 victory verdict from the Cyclones in Cincinnati to launch the road show, Head Coach Bernie John's contingent sustained a pair of setbacks the past weekend at Central Division rival Tulsa and defending Brabham Cup ECHL Regular Season Champions Missouri on consecutive nights. In Friday night's contest on the Oilers opening night, the Fuel equalized matters at 1-1 before the Tulsans erupted for 5-consecutive goals including a 3-goals' special teams second period outburst to decide the contest. Tyler Currier did account for Fuel firepower with his second goal in as many games on the road sojourn. Saturday night in the Mavericks opening night pageantry, it was a pair of third period Missouri strikes that punctured the scoreless stalemate with the visitors from Indianapolis making matters tense and uncomfortable in the end through a late goal from Matt Stanisz. Eric Levine made his Fuel debut in goal a stellar and stingy one, repelling 32 of 34-shots in the final ultimate outcome.

HOME PERFORMANCE ENORMOUS: Having not seen action at the friendly climes and environs of their home ice of Indiana Farmers Coliseum since their thrilling opening night 3-1 triumph over Cincinnati, back on October 14th, the Fuel will look forward to a pair of home encounters this upcoming weekend against two fractious and formidable foes. Indy's finest on ice will be seeking to exact a form of retribution Friday night when the Tulsa Oilers come calling in an encore engagement from the first in-division collision between the two teams one week previously. Then on Saturday night, the Fuel will lock horns with the two-time reigning ECHL Kelly Cup Champions, the Allen Americans.

WEEKEND PROMOTIONS: As is always the case, the Fuel organization is primed to present another exciting weekend at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum. On Fuel Fitness Night on Friday, the Fuel and Community Health Network will be celebrating healthy lifestyles in conjunction with the past weekend's first annual Fuel 5K Run/Walk on October 22nd. Race participants will be able to attend this game absolutely-free and will be recognized at the Fuel game for this special night.

On Saturday's Fright Night, the Halloween holiday arrives early for Fuel fans. Game attendees are urged to don their best costume and proceed to go Trick-or-Treating in the concourse during the game. Prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed guys, gals and ghouls.

FUEL MUST SEE TV: All during this current 2016-17 ECHL season, all Fuel Friday night and Saturday night home games will be televised through live simulcast from Indiana Farmers Coliseum on WTHR-TV 13 (NBC) and COZI-TV as well as on radio flagship home CBS Sports 1430. Both Fuel home games will be on TV/Radio this weekend as Terry Ficorelli will be joined by Bob Kravitz and Talor Whitaker.

DIVISION COMPETITION: Through the initial three weeks of the ECHL campaign, the Western Conference Central Division has taken the following form: 1- Toledo 5(4-1-0) 8; 2- Tulsa 3(3-0-0) 6; 3- Fort Wayne 4(3-1-0) 6; 4- Kalamazoo 4(3-1-0) 6; 5- INDY FUEL 4(2-2-0) 4; 6- Quad City 4(2-2-0) 4; 7- Wichita 2(1-1-0) 2.

NOMINATE TO APPPRECIATE: The past week, Fuel goaltender Jake Hildebrand was heralded as CCM/ECHL Goaltender of the Week while left wing Alex Wideman attained runner-up plaudits for ECHL Player of the Week. For this past weekend, the Fuel have nominated Eric Levine for CCM/ECHL Goaltender of the Week and center Kevin Lynch for ECHL Player of the Week. In his Indy premiere appearance Levine was superb in rebuffing 32 of 34 Missouri shots, posting a thrifty and nifty 2.04 GAA and .941 SPCT. Lynch played is always sound and solid all-around game, registering 1-assist in his club's two games. The 2009 #2 draft pick of the NHL Columbus Blue Jackets has authored 3-assists thus far this season while assembling a sterling +4 rating. He has yet to be a minus player at this early stage of the season.

SCORING SCALES: The Fuel's finest in firepower: 1-Tyler Currier 4(2-2-4); 2- Alex Wideman 4(3-0-3); 3- Kevin Lynch 4(0-3-3); 4- Anthony Beauregard 4(1-1-2); 5- Matt Stanisz 4(1-0-1).

PLUS PLAYERS PERSONIFIED: Indy's top spot premium, positive plus players at this early juncture of the season: 1- Kevin Lynch +4; 2- Tyler Currier +4; 3- Alex Wideman +2; Jonathan Carlsson +2; Drew Schiestel +2.

SPECIAL TEAMS TALES: When the Oilers connected on 2-PPG in 4:06 in the second period Friday night on Tulsa's opening night, it halted a Fuel impressive skein of stifling the adversary's first 10-man advantages of the inchoate campaign. For the season, the Fuel shorthand band has excelled, operating at an impressive 87.5% at 14-16 with 1-SHG offered from Tyler Currier. In the meantime, the Indy power play is still in search of that elusive initial PP strike for this new season. The Fuel are 0-10 with their extra man band through the first quartet of contests this season. Indy has allotted 1-SHGA thus far this season.

FUEL FACTS The Fuel's best period in this early season has been the first one, outscoring the opposition, 5-2. Five of Indy's 7-goals thus far this season have been percolated in the opening stanza. In the last 2-periods combined, the Fuel have been out-goaled by the opposition, 8-2 overall and 5-1 in the fateful final frame. When they sustained the 2-1 defeat at Missouri Saturday night, the Fuel dropped their 7th consecutive clash between the two teams. Since opening night, the Fuel have managed to score only 4-goals in the last 3-games. When the Fuel trembled in Tulsa Friday night, 6-1, it represented the first-ever meeting between the two teams in the Fuel's brief history. Matt Stanisz's goal at 18:12 of the third period Saturday night at Missouri represented the club's first goal delivered by a defenseman this season. Tyler Currier 3(2-2-4) and Kevin Lynch 3(0-3-3) both had their season-opening 3-game point-scoring streaks snapped Saturday night at Missouri. The Fuel are 2(1-1-0) in 1-goal decisions with both such outcomes occurring on consecutive Saturday nights by the replica result of 2-1. When the Fuel host Allen Saturday night, they will collide head-on with a team that has actually captured 4-consecutive League Championships; the last 2 in succession in the now extinct Central Hockey league (CHL) as well as the first 2-consecutively since their annexing into the ECHL.
