Tiger-Cats Clinch Playoff Berth and Home Playoff Game with Overtime

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats defeated the Ottawa Redblacks 39-36 in overtime on Friday night at TD Place Stadium, clinching a spot in the 104th Grey Cup Playoffs and also guaranteeing a home playoff date for the fourth consecutive season. With two games remaining in the CFL's 2016 regular season, the Tiger-Cats (7-9-0, 14 points) trail the Redblacks (7-8-1, 15 points) by one point and can finish no worse than second in the CFL's East Division.

The Tiger-Cats have now made the playoffs in four consecutive seasons and seven times in the last eight years (2009-2016). Hamilton will host either the Eastern Semi-Final on Sunday, November 13 at 1 p.m., or the Eastern Final on Sunday, November 20 at 1 p.m. at Tim Hortons Field.

Tickets for the Tiger-Cats final two regular season games (Fri, Oct. 28 vs. Edmonton Eskimos & Sat, Nov. 5 vs. Montreal Alouettes) and the home playoff game at Tim Hortons Field can be purchased at www.ticats.ca. The Ticats have sold out all seven of the team's home games so far this season, averaging 23,981 fans per game (102 percent capacity in the 23,500-seat stadium). Since playing their first game in their new home on September 1, 2014, the Tiger-Cats have sold out all 24 home regular season and playoff contests at Tim Hortons Field.
