Albany Devils Go for Third Straight Win

ALBANY, NY - The Albany Devils put their unblemished record on the line when they host the Binghamton Senators Friday at Times Union Center. Puck drop is slated for 7 pm and the Devils are coming off back-to-back wins last week at Providence (3-1) Friday and against St. John's (5-2) Saturday. The Senators were perfect in their opener, shutting out Hershey (3-0) Saturday.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR

* Strong Starts: The Devils have been ready to play from the drop of the puck so far this season. The team has outscored opponents, 5-0, during the first period and outshot them, 17-12.

* Three with Two: During last week's games, Albany had three players score goals in both contests. Third-year pro Ben Thomson, second-year pro Blake Pietila and rookie John Quenneville each found the back of the net twice. Brandon Gormley, Rod Pelley and Ben Sexton all posted assists in both contests.

* Gibbons' Debut: Brian Gibbons, who signed as a free agent just days prior to the start of the season, is expected to make his Devils debut. The 28-year-old, who missed the first two games due to the birth of his son, a veteran of more than 300 professional games: 257 outings in the AHL and 66 in the NHL. His career totals include 124 points, including 39 goals and 85 assists in the AHL and 22 points, backed by five goals and 17 helpers in the NHL.
