Cedar Rapids RoughRiders News Release
Cedar Rapids, IA - Cedar Rapids RoughRiders forward Zac Robbins has announced his college commitment to the University of Connecticut.
The Glenview, IL native is in his 2nd season with the RoughRiders and is currently leading the team in scoring. "My decision to go to UCONN was based on several factors," said Robbins. "I believe my playing style will fit in with Coach Cavanaugh's philosophy. The campus is great and has a welcoming environment. As a bonus, I get to play in Hockey East." He added.
Robbins was with Johnstown of the NAHL during the 2014-2015 season and signed on as a free agent prior to the 2015-2016 season with the RoughRiders. He is scheduled to join UCONN beginning with the 2017-2018 season. "The RoughRiders organization is very happy for Zac and his family," said RoughRiders Head Coach Mark Carlson. "UCONN is a great fit for Zac, both academically and athletically."
