Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The Colorado Springs Sky Sox and the Milwaukee Brewers have extended their Player Development Contract through the end of the 2018 baseball season, team officials announced today. The two-year agreement extends from September 30, 2016 until September 30, 2018. The 2017 campaign marks the 3rd season of the partnership between the two clubs.

"The Milwaukee Brewers Organization is very excited to extend our contract with the Sky Sox, and we are proud to remain a part of the Sky Sox family," said Brewers Farm Director Tom Flanagan. "The community of Colorado Springs and the Sky Sox front office staff have been important pieces of the Brewers family since we became partners prior to the 2015 season. We look forward to a continued relationship and a successful future with Colorado Springs and the Sky Sox Organization."

Since 2015, 43 players have been promoted to Milwaukee from Colorado Springs including 22 in 2016. Over the first two years of the affiliation, the Brewers have steadily built their farm system into one of the most successful and well stocked among all 30 Major League Baseball clubs. Following a series of trades prior to the 2016 trade deadline, MLBPipeline.com now ranks the Brewers as the No. 1 farm system in baseball.

"Over the past 2 years, our partnership with the Milwaukee Brewers has been a tremendous success and a source of great pride for the Colorado Springs community," said Sky Sox President and General Manager Tony Ensor. "Security Service Field has been the launching pad for numerous Major League baseball players including Zach Davies, Orlando Arcia, Domingo Santana and many more and we look forward to continuing that tradition. As we celebrate our 30th Anniversary, Sky Sox will continue to showcase some of the best professional baseball talent in the country while matching that talent against the league's best in the hopes of bringing another Pacific Coast League Championship to Colorado Springs."

The 30th season of Sky Sox Baseball begins April 6, 2017. For information about the Sky Sox and the 2017 season at Security Service Field, please call (719) 597-1449 or email info@skysox.com.
