Williams Scores Back-To-Back TOTW Honours

OTTAWA, ON - It's all about the streaks for Ottawa Fury FC. The club's seven-match unbeaten streak has not only seen Fury FC climb the NASL standings, but players are earning their just recognition in the NASL Team of the Week. For five straight weeks, a member of Fury FC has nabbed this weekly honour among those is midfielder Ryan Williams who scored his second straight spot in the Team of the Week thanks to his match-winner in Ottawa's 3-1 win over Minnesota United FC at TD Place on Saturday night.
With a 1-1 game, Williams picked up Carl Haworth's attempted pass for Giuseppe Gentile on the edge of the 18-yard box, cut onto his right foot before firing a low shot into the left corner of Sammy Ndjock's goal, giving his team the lead and eventully the win.
In addition to his second straight tally, the 5-foot-8 midfielder displayed a strong performance in Ottawa's midfield. He completed 28 of his 33 attempted passes (88%) and was a constant threat to Minnesota's defense.
Fury FC continues to impress in the month of September. The club is 8W-5D-1L lifetime in the ninth month of the year and will look to continue their strong form by extending the unbeaten streak to eight games with a midweek clash in Miami. After Wednesday night's road contest, Ottawa will return home to host Puerto Rico FC at TD Place Sunday (October 2) at 2 p.m.
