August 31, 2016 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

Waterloo, Iowa-Waterloo Black Hawks defenseman Mikey Anderson has been named to the roster of 42 U.S.-born players who will participate in the CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game next month in Philadelphia.

Anderson, who is preparing for his second season in Waterloo, will skate in the event on September 22nd at Wells Fargo Center, home of the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers. The 2016 exhibition will mark the fifth time USA Hockey and NHL Central Scouting have chosen two squads of leading U.S.-born prospects to play an exhibition in front of professional scouts at the outset of their draft year.

Earlier in August, Anderson competed in another highly-scouted event, representing the nation during the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament in Czech Republic and Slovakia. In July, he was also named to the 2016/17 NHL Central Scouting Futures List for the 2017 Draft.

As a United States Hockey League rookie in 2015/16, the University of Minnesota-Duluth recruit appeared in 57 of the Black Hawks' 60 regular season games. He was +6, with a goal and 15 assists. Anderson showed scoring touch during the 2016 Clark Cup playoffs, with three goals and two assists in nine games. His contributions included two power play goals and one while shorthanded.

Black Hawks players have been participants in each past edition of the USA Hockey's All-American Prospects Game. Last fall, Sam Rossini and Garrett Wait took the ice during the event.
