Gary SouthShore Railcats News Release
GARY, IN - Celebrate the RailCats' 15 seasons on the South Shore by winning your favorite player's throwback jersey on Monday, September 5th! The Gary SouthShore RailCats will host a silent auction during the game and allow fans to bid on their favorite players' jersey!
The special throwback jerseys were designed and debuted in 2011 for the RailCats 10th Anniversary season. Manager Greg Tagert took the lead in designing the jerseys and they were designed with the following in mind:
- Number font from the 1970s-'80s Phillies
- Lettering styles from the 1976-'81 Mariners
- Design features of the 1970s Padres
- Individual belt loops like the Tigers
- Stirrups styled from the old Orioles and Red Sox
Don't miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to own the jerseys worn by the 2011-2016 RailCats! For example, #4 has been worn by Jeremy Hamilton, Spencer Mahoney, and Mike Rohde while #30 has been worn by Richard Castillo, Alex Gunn, and Brian Kolb!
The auction will start at $50 per jersey and will close at the end of the 6th inning. Payment must be made the same day and fans will receive the jersey immediately following the game.
Gates will open at noon with first pitch at 1;10pm for this special Monday game.
