BOLDLY GOING TOWARDS THE PLAYOFFS: SAINTS DETERMINED TO NOT NICKEL AND DIME FANS WITH POPFLY'S, POLKA OR PROF'S IN FINAL HOMESTAND

ST. PAUL, MN - Give us all you've got and take plenty of photographs for when the season is over in Oktober. The Saints are Alive in a push towards the playoffs and need every fan FORE the final home stand of the season as we say thank you to our loyal supporters for their Labor of love. It's the last two scheduled series at CHS Field from August 30 to September 5 as the Saints host the Winnipeg Goldeyes and Lincoln SaltDogs.

The fun kicks off on Tuesday, August 30 at 7:05 p.m. when division rival Winnipeg comes to town for three games. As an organization, the Saints are always looking to go where no baseball team has gone before, so we're saluting the original trailblazers into the great unknown with a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Star Trek presented by Travel Leaders. Bats will certainly not be set to stun as the Saints try and end any chance for the Goldeyes to beam their way into the playoffs. See if the Saints KAAAHHHHNNN lock down the North Division title and prove that resistance to another playoff berth in St. Paul is futile. In addition to a Vulcan greeting at the gate, the first 500 fans will receive blankets and sunscreen courtesy of FunJet vacations. With services that take people to their favorite destinations faster than a warp drive, FunJet and Travel Leaders will be offering a chance to go where many travel enthusiasts have gone before with a vacation package giveaway to one lucky fan. It would be highly illogical to miss this game and an opportunity to enjoy a tasty treat on Mississippi Market Tuesday with a rotating food special.

Every time fans come through the gates, the Saints try and make their experience as enjoyable as possible. However, on Wednesday, August 31 at 7:05 p.m., we'll be doing the complete opposite as the ballpark becomes an attempt to withstand musical torture with our "salute" to Nickelback. We can't guarantee that Nobody will Cry when we exclusively play the music of the wannabe Rockstars throughout the evening at CHS Field, hoping fans don't Burn It To The Ground as a result. No matter how Far Away you might be from the ballpark, we don't want to be Here Without You on what should be a picture perfect night. After enduring a night of music that Boise Weekly once claimed was worse than buying "45 hammers from the dollar store, hanging them from the ceiling at eye level and spending an evening banging the demons out of your dome," fans will receive a nickel back upon exiting the ballpark. Join us for a tailgate that is wilder than Chad Kroeger trying to be cool or sing in key on Walser Wednesday.

Though the calendar will turn over to September in the final game of the series with Winnipeg on Thursday, September 1 at 7:05 p.m., we'll already have an eye towards Oktoberfest with German Night. Mixing Lederhosen with line drives the Saints will celebrate the great festival that signals the start of fall in a night that should have sauerkraut and schnitzels to spare. Of course what is Oktoberfest without beer, and the kegs will be flowing on the final Thirsty Thursday of the year. We can't offer you a stein, but we can guarantee there will be $1 beers all night.

The baseball diamond will truly be Nirvana on Friday, September 2 at 7:05 p.m. as the Saints start a four game series against Lincoln with the last Xcel Energy Friday Night Fireworks set to the music of the Grunge Era. It's the 25th anniversary of Nirvana releasing Nevermind so we will Crank up the distortion and channel all that 90's angst into this game as we also celebrate the end of summer with Bush's Beans. After all, at their Core, everyone can think of a time they Feel a Little Pain that they don't have more Pearl Jam in their library, so we're providing it for you. Set to the sounds of Smashing Pumpkins the Saints plan on smashing home runs in a night that will transform the green grass of the field into a Soundgarden worthy of the best in grunge music. In the spirit of the night, Saints players will be wearing flannel shirts during warm ups that fans can bid on during the game.

Grab your polo's and throw on the most garish pants you own on Saturday, September 3 at 7:05 p.m. when we Tee Off for the Ryder Cup with the help of Eagle Valley Golf Course. Playing on a field manicured like the greens at Augusta, the Saints will Take Dead Aim at driving their way into the playoffs. No layups here, the Saints always approach each at bat with the goal of lofting the ball further than the pros can hit a five iron. Any hooks or slices won't result in a long delay or search for a drop zone, it will just be a souvenir for a lucky fan. Like a country club on Copa Cabana Beach, there will be a tropical feel to the night on Treasure Island Saturday.

We understand being a fan day in and day out can be rewarding and maddening at the same time. For that we're rewarding our loyal followers on Sunday, September 4 at 5:05 p.m. with Fan Appreciation Night. Though CHS Field has a large variety of incredible food, we're bringing a Monster Food Truck Rally into the stadium at the conclusion of the game and letting fans come down to the field. After they have selected their favorite treat and the sun has set, the skies of Lowertown will be lit up one more time with a Fireworks Super Show, this time on a Sunday just to show how much we love to give our fans options. Following the game the Saints will be showing the premier episode of FOX's new show PITCH, about a female pitcher who is playing the Major Leagues. Adding to the plethora of experiences at the ballpark, kids run the bases after the game and can get player autographs on the field on Family Sunday.

Game number 100 of the season finally arrives on Labor Day as we bring fans one more Metropolitan State University Variety Show on Monday, September 5 at 11:05 a.m. It's the Saints fourth day game and we've saved two of our best guests for last. Joining the Saints entertainment team as a guest emcee is Lizz Winstead, who has co-founded small projects like Air America Radio and a slightly successful program known as The Daily Show. A native of Minneapolis, Winstead was one of the two creators of The Daily Show and a head writer when it started on Comedy Central back in 1996. She helped staff the show with talent that included Brian Unger, Beth Littleford, Lewis Black and Stephen Colbert. Since leaving The Daily Show, Winstead has continued to create comedic content across different networks and platforms and published her first book in 2012. We'll see what kind of Snap Judgment she makes about the quality of entertainment at Saints games as she brings her Unfiltered sense of satirical humor to the ballpark. Providing the soundtrack that day is Minneapolis native rapper Prof. Named as one of the 20 best rappers in Minnesota in 2012, Prof is perfect for a Variety Show Monday with his impressive singing voice and comedic interactions with the crowd. To make the day more special, Saints broadcaster Sean Aronson will cross the threshold of greatness as he calls his 1,000th game for the St. Paul Saints, which can be heard on Club 1220 KLBB.

Make it so that you add some change to your pocket for a Märzen of your choice. It will Smell Like Team Spirit when we follow through with seven days of fireworks, food trucks and a whole variety of daily fun. It's last call for Saints fans to come out with the crowd and take in the fun at CHS Field as the Saints play their final seven games of the regular season.

Saints tickets continue to be a tremendous value. Tickets begin at $5 for berm seating (available only on day of game in person at the box office), $6 for bleacher seats, $12 for the drink rail, $14 for outfield reserved, $16 for infield reserved and $18 for home plate reserved. Tickets purchased on the day of the game are an additional $2 per ticket. Children under the age of 12 and seniors 65 and older receive $1 off the admission price. Children under 2 that don't require a seat are free.

Saints Box Office hours on non-game days are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. On game days, the Box Office will open at 9 a.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. Saturday and 12:00 p.m. on Sunday and will remain open until 15 minutes following each game.
