New Soccer Play Space to be Unveiled in Hoboken

In an effort to give kids safe and accessible places to play, the New York Red Bulls and the U.S. Soccer Foundation will unveil a new Safe Places to Play soccer mini-pitch near Adams Street & 14 th Street, under the Viaduct in Hoboken. On Tuesday, August 30, a ceremonial first kick will take place with executives and local dignitaries, along with New York Red Bulls players.

Following the official dedication, local youth from Hoboken will participate in a small-sided match on the new pitch. The new pitch is part of the U.S. Soccer Foundation's commitment to offer children in underserved communities a safe place to play, while providing a soccer environment that encourages unstructured play within local communities, supporting continued growth of the game.

WHAT:

New, state-of-the-art soccer mini-pitch unveiling, including ceremonial first kick with kids, dignitaries, executives, and New York Red Bulls players, followed by the first game on the new pitch.

WHO:

Local Hoboken youth soccer players Special guests scheduled to attend include: Marc de Grandpre, General Manager, New York Red Bulls Aurélien Collin, Player, New York Red Bulls Felipe, Player, New York Red Bulls Mayor Dawn Zimmer, Hoboken Thomas A. DeGise, Hudson County Executive Anthony L. Romano, Jr., Hudson County Freeholder Shep Messing, Red Bulls Analyst, MSG Networks

VISUALS:

Local Hoboken boys and girls taking ceremonial first kick with players and executives and playing in the first match on the new pitch. New York Red Bulls players will serve as celebrity coaches.
