KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - Micker Adolfo returned to the Kannapolis Intimidators Saturday night with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate that fell a home run shy of the cycle. The Columbia Fireflies, despite being outhit 11 to 10, collected a 10-6 win at Intimidators Stadium supported by Carolinas HealthCare System.

Adolfo went 3-for-4 with a triple, double, two RBI and two runs scored. Seby Zavala also collected three hits for Kannapolis (31-31 Second Half, 55-77), going 3-for-4 with a run a scored.

Columbia (26-36 Second Half, 62-70) pushed across the first run of the night in the first inning on a Dale Burdick one-out triple to center that was followed by a Patrick Mazeika RBI groundout.

Max Beatty set down the Fireflies 1-2-3 in the top of the second, but failed to get through the third inning when Columbia erupted for seven runs. Tucker Tharp started the rally with a single and was followed by five more Fireflies hits in the inning. Patrick Mazeika and Eudor Garcia combined to drive home three runs with back-to-back doubles in the inning. Milton Ramos capped the rally with a two RBI single to left that put the Fireflies on top 8-2.

Beatty lasted just 2 and 2/3 innings allowing eight runs, four earned, on eight hits with one walk and four strikeouts.

The Intimidators briefly took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning. Adolfo singled home the first run of the frame and three pitches later Antonio Rodriguez doubled to right for the second run of the inning.

Following the seven run top of the third, Kannapolis managed to chip away against Fireflies starter Chase Ingram. Adolfo's leadoff triple in the fourth lead to the third run of the night for Kannapolis who finally chased Ingram (8-9) from the game in the bottom of the sixth.

In the sixth, three Intimidators -Bradley Strong, Micker Adolfo and Antonio Rodriguez- leadoff the inning with hits and all came around the score during a three-run rally that pushed Kannapolis to within two runs, 8-6.

The Fireflies tacked on two more runs in the eighth to put the game out of reach for good. Witt Haggard worked a 1-2-3 ninth for Columbia, shutting the door on a Fireflies 10-6 win.

Cody Daily went hitless for Kannapolis, snapping the longest active streak in the South Atlantic League at 14 games. The streak ranks as the longest by an Intimidator this season and the seventh longest in the league.

The Intimidators will play their final home game of the year Sunday against Columbia at 5:05 P.M. RHP Luis Martinez (7-9, 3.90 ERA) will take the ball for Kannapolis and will face Columbia's RHP Gaby Almonte (3-5, 5.22 ERA).
