Dunedin Blue Jays News Release

DUNEDIN, FL - RHP Conor Fisk (W, 10-3) twirled eight innings, allowing a run on two hits with six strikeouts in the Dunedin Blue Jays (41-21) 6-2 win over the Lakeland Flying Tigers (22-38). 1B Ryan McBroom added his 21st home run of the season.

Fisk had not allowed a hit until the fifth inning when RF Ben Verlander singled on the infield with two outs. Fisk's only mistake was a home run given up to 1B Wade Hinkle. In a 2-0 game in the seventh inning.

Dunedin struck first in their first chance to bat. DH Max Pentecost singled to left field with two outs to plate RF Jonathan Davis. Dunedin's first four runs in the game came on two-out hits. Looking for more in a 1-0 game, SS Jorge Flores scored the first of his two runs on CF Anthony Alford's infield hit.

Hinkle's home run made it 2-1, but Dunedin came right back in the seventh and eighth with a pair of runs in each frame. Flores and Alford provided RBI-hits in the seventh, and McBroom's eighth inning shot capped the night.

The Jays look for the sweep on Sunday with RHP Luis Santos on the mound against RHP A.J. Ladwig at 6:30 pm. This story was not subject to the approval of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues or its clubs.
