Altmann Promoted to High Desert

Hickory, NC - The Texas Rangers, major league parent club of the Hickory Crawdads, have announced that 'Dads infielder Josh Altmann been promoted to the High Desert Mavericks (Class-A Advanced), becoming the sixth Crawdad this season to move up in the organization.

Altmann, 22, leaves Hickory after batting .260/.349/.427 (AVG/OBP/SLG) with 6 home runs, 16 doubles, 2 triples, and 30 RBI. The versatile defender appeared at eight different positions for the 'Dads, including every spot on the infield and outfield in addition to pitching for the team in emergency relief. A 22nd round selection by the Rangers in the 2015 MLB Draft out of Olivet Nazarene, Altmann played a total of 71 games in Hickory after joining the team on May 12th.

Altmann becomes the sixth Crawdad to move up in the Rangers system this season, joining OF Eduard Pinto (Double-A Frisco), INF Dylan Moore (High Desert), INF Andy Ibanez (Frisco), OF Chris Garia (Frisco), and RHP Tyler Davis (High Desert).
