CORPUS CHRISTI - Astros outfielder Preston Tucker joins the Hooks Wednesday night on a rehab assignment.
Tucker, 26, is working his way back from a right shoulder strain. He was placed on the disabled list August 12.
Tucker made his big-league debut on May 7, 2015. Houston's seventh-round pick in 2012 out of Florida was Hooks Player of the Year for 2014. That season he earned Texas League All-Star recognition after hitting .276 with 17 home runs and 43 RBI's over 65 games before promotion to Triple-A. Tucker also played in 60 2013 Hooks contests.
Over 146 Astros games, Tucker is hitting .219 with 27 doubles, 17 home runs, and 41 runs batted in. This story was not subject to the approval of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues or its clubs.
