SPOKANE, Washington - The Empire has signed offensive lineman Larry Mazyck to their 2017 IFL roster.

Mazyck (OL, 6-7, 330, Kansas) joins the Empire for his first season as a member of the IFL after spending time with the NFL's Houston Texas during their 2016 rookie mini-camp. Larry played his final two collegiate seasons at the University of Kansas where he saw action in all 24 games (started 13 at right tackle). Before becoming a Jayhawk, Mazyck spent two years at Iowa Western Community College where he earned First Team NJCAA All-American and First Team All-Midwest Football Conference honors. He played his freshman collegiate season at New Mexico and also spent one year at Fork Union Military Academy (VA) in 2010. Mazyck played his prep career at Friendship Collegiate Academy in Washington, D.C.

"Larry is a big, athletic offensive tackle that got the attention of many NFL scouts during his senior season," said Empire Head Coach Adam Shackleford. "We think that his ability to protect the passer and get to the second level on the run game will make him a threat in the indoor football league."
