Missoula Sends Four to Second Annual All-Star Game

MISSOULA, MONT. - Jim McCurdy, President of the Pioneer Baseball League, announced the roster for the second annual Pioneer Baseball League vs. Northwest League All-Star game sponsored by America First Credit Union on Wednesday, and the Osprey will be represented by four players. The game will be played on August 2, 2016 at Lindquist Field, the home of the Ogden Raptors.

Players from each of the eight PBL teams are represented on the 28-player roster. The named starting lineup for the game is comprised of the players receiving the top votes, as follows:

P - Jordan Desguin, Helena C - Meibrys Viloria, Idaho Falls 1B - Ibandel Isabel, Ogden 2B - Jonathon Piron, Grand Junction 3B - Manny Olloque, Idaho Falls SS - Jose Gomez, Grand Junction OF - Jahmai Jones, Orem DJ Peters, Ogden Aaron Schnurbusch, Great Falls DH - Mitch Hansen, Ogden

PBL All-Star Manager Shaun Larkin (Ogden Raptors) will determine the batting order for the team.

The remaining roster spots are comprised of the following All-Stars:

C - Ryan January, Missoula IF - Brady Conlan, Great Falls IF - Jasrado Chisholm, Missoula IF - Hector Vargas, Billings IF - Colton Welker, Grand Junction OF - Yeison Melo, Idaho Falls OF - Jose Siri, Billings P - Nate Bertness, Orem P - Colton Cross, Helena P - Jake Elliott, Great Falls P - Connor Grey, Missoula P - Dean Jackson, Missoula P - Andrew Jordan, Billings P - Alex Luna, Idaho Falls P - Aron McRee, Great Falls P - Antonio Santillan, Billings* P - Kenny Oakley, Grand Junction P - Nash Walters, Helena P - Roberth Fernandez, Ogden

Antonio Santillan, Billings Mustangs, has been promoted to Dayton and is unavailable for the PBL-NWL All Star Game. He is replaced by Roberth Fernandez, Ogden Raptors.

Shaun Larkin, Manager, is joined by the Ogden Raptors staff: Don Alexander, Pitching Coach; Pedro Guerro; Ausstin Chubb, Hitting Coach; Hosh Herzenberg, Assistant Pitching Coach; Yuya Mukaihara, Trainer.

January is hitting .303 with five homers, three doubles and 11 RBI entering play on Wednesday night. The left-handed hitting catcher compiled Missoula's longest hitting streak of the year, batting safely in 11 straight from 6/27 - 7/11 (.439 | 18x41). January was the #393 prospect in the MLB Draft this year out of San Jacinto Junior College in Texas.

Chisholm has batted .286 with 21 runs scored, five doubles, a triple and five homers to accompany 20 RBI entering play on Wednesday. The standout shortstop, who has stolen four bases this year, has hit safely in all but eight games with an at bat this season. Chisholm played high school baseball at Life Prep in Wichita, Kan. before returning to the Bahamas and training at the Maximum Development Sports Academy.

Grey has been the most consistent starter for the O's this year, pitching to a 4-1 record with a 2.93 ERA. His ERA ranks seventh in the League entering Wednesday's games. The Osprey are 6-1 in games started by Grey this year, as the right-hander has registered four of Missoula's nine quality starts. Grey, who has logged 40 innings with 27 strikeouts over seven starts, carried a no-hitter into the eighth inning vs. Great Falls on 7/11 - eventually earning the victory and allowing one hit over 7.1 innings of work. Grey was a 20th round pick out of St. Bonaventure this year.

Jackson, an undrafted free agent signee out of Arizona Christian University, has been a force out of the Missoula bullpen this year, pitching to a 3-0 record with a 1.32 ERA over eight appearances entering Wednesday's play. Jackson has logged 13.2 innings while striking out 16 to just three walks. The right-hander did not allow an earned run over his first 11.2 innings of work, spanning six appearances. Jackson combined on Missoula's one-hitter against Billings on 6/20, tossing 3.0 hitless frames with four strikeouts.

Missoula will conclude a three-game home series with Idaho Falls, and the first half of play, on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
