Carlos Sanchez Recalled to Chicago

LOUISVILLE, KY-- Infielder Carlos Sanchez, who is third all-time in Charlotte Knights franchise history in hits with 347, has been recalled by the Chicago White Sox today. Sanchez will take the roster spot of White Sox infielder Brett Lawrie, who was placed on the team's 15-day disabled list (retroactive to July 22) with a strained left hamstring. Charlotte's roster currently consists of 24 active players.
Today's promotion to Chicago is the fourth of the season for Sanchez (April 28, July 1, July 24, & July 27). In all, 18 different players have been promoted from Charlotte to Chicago including: RHP Erik Johnson (April 19, May 5 & May 23), catcher Kevan Smith (April 24), RHP Miguel Gonzalez (April 25 & May 9), catcher Hector Sanchez (April 26), RHP Daniel Webb (April 27), RHP Tommy Kahnle (April 29, May 5, May 23 & June 3), RHP Scott Carroll (May 6), LHP Matt Purke (May 13), outfielder J.B. Shuck (May 30), outfielder Jason Coats (June 4 & June 10), shortstop Tim Anderson (June 10), RHP Michael Ynoa (June 14), RHP Chris Beck (June 21), and 3B Matt Davidson (June 30), catcher Omar Narvaez (July 6), RHP Jacob Turner (July 17), and RHP Anthony Ranaudo (July 24).
Sanchez, 24, is hitting .255 (60-for-235) with 31 runs scored, 11 doubles, two triples, eight home runs, 29 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases with the Knights in 61 games this season. In three stints with the White Sox this season, Sanchez is hitting .143 (5-for-35) with four runs scored, two doubles, and one RBI in 14 games.
The Knights return home to BB&T Ballpark on Friday, July 29 to open a three-game homestand against the Columbus Clippers (Triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians).
