Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

A solid outing from Isotopes starter Jeff Hoffman and a productive night from the Albuquerque offense was enough to down the Salt Lake Bees 8-4 at Isotopes Park on Tuesday night. The Bees had previously taken 10 straight from the Isotopes, with Albuquerque's last win against Salt Lake coming 363 days ago on July 29, 2015.

Isotopes starter Jeff Hoffman was dominant, allowing one unearned run over his five innings on the hill. The 23-year-old allowed just three hits, striking out seven, while walking none on 76 pitches. The win broke a streak of four straight losses for Hoffman. The Isotopes had lost 12 of Hoffman's previous 14 starts.

Albuquerque reliever Matt Flemer tossed two scoreless innings out of the bullpen in relief of Hoffman, allowing just one hit.

Rockies reliever Justin Miller appeared in his first rehab assignment with the Isotopes. The right-hander struggled, allowing three runs over just 0.2 innings of work.

In his Triple-A debut, reliever Matt Carasiti recorded the ball game's final four outs, striking out three Bees in the process.

As for the Isotopes offense, the club was able to cross the plate eight times during Tuesday's contest. Five Isotopes knocked in runs, including two-RBI games from right fielder Jordan Patterson, first baseman Ben Paulsen, and center fielder Mike Tauchman.

Isotopes catcher Tom Murphy finished the evening 2-for-3 with two singles and a walk, increasing his July batting average to .558 (29-for-53). He is now hitting .299 on the season.

The Isotopes and Bees are back in action tomorrow evening from Isotopes Park. Right-hander Eddie Butler (4-1, 5.31) gets the start for Albuquerque. Salt Lake counters with southpaw Nate Smith (3-8, 7.71). First pitch from Isotopes Park is set for 7:05 p.m.
