Wichita Thunder News Release

Wichita, KS - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and powered by Toyota, announced this afternoon that defenseman Landon Oslanski has re-signed for the 2016-17 season.

"Landon is a solid offensive defenseman that I coached against in the WHL," said Head Coach Malcolm Cameron. "He has a solid compete level and wears his heart on his sleeve. From the moment we first spoke, I could hear the excitement in his voice about returning to Wichita. I look forward to seeing him on the ice."

Oslanski, 24, returns for his second stint in Wichita after being acquired in a trade last December. The Camrose, Alberta native tied his career-high with 35 points last season, recording seven points (3g, 4a) in 18 games with the Alaska Aces and 28 points (10g, 18a) in 53 games with the Thunder. He finished tied for third in the ECHL with 10 power play goals, eight of which were recorded in Wichita. His efforts earned him the team's Defenseman of the Year Award.

"I'm excited to come back and play in front of the ECHL's best fans," commented Oslanski. "I'm eager to get this season started and feel confident in Malcolm's vision for our team. I enjoyed Wichita as a city and it was a great place for me and my wife. I can't wait to get back on the ice."

Oslanski was selected to the 2014-15 ECHL All-Star Game after splitting time with Rapid City, Missouri and Alaska. Prior to turning pro, the 5-foot-10, 190-pound blueliner spent five seasons in the WHL between Spokane, Lethbridge and Everett. He finished his junior career with 118 points (33g, 85a) in 279 games.

The Thunder kicks off their 25th Anniversary season on Saturday, October 15th against the Tulsa Oilers. Season tickets are on sale now. Put down your $50 deposit per seat and pay it off all summer long. Contact a Thunder representative at the office today.
