July 26, 2016 - International League (IL1)
Norfolk Tides News Release

Norfolk, VA - As the second half of the season gets underway, Minor League Baseball and Esurance today unveiled the first annual Esurance Home Field Advantage Award. One Minor League Baseball team in each of the 14 leagues will receive the award based on the highest percentage capacity of the ballpark during the 2016 season.

Norfolk Tides fans are encouraged to continue to support the Tides in this friendly competition by attending games in the home stretch of the regular season. The winning teams will be announced in September and honored at the 2016 Baseball Winter Meetings™ in National Harbor, Maryland, this December. A celebration for the hometown fans of each winning team will also take place at their respective ballparks at the start of the 2017 season.

"We know that Norfolk Tides fans are among the best in Minor League Baseball, as their decades of support has shown", stated Norfolk Tides General Manager Joe Gregory. "We encourage our fans to help us bring this award home".

The Tides' promotional calendar is packed with fun-filled events to entertain every kind of fan. The remainder of the 2016 home schedule includes Turn Back the Clock Night with 50-cent hot dogs, sodas and popcorn, four fireworks shows, a hat giveaway, and an appearance by the Oriole Bird. If that's not enough the Tides will wear one-of-a-kind "Minions" jerseys on August 12th with a silent jersey auction during the game to benefit the United Way of South Hampton Roads.

Last month, Esurance and Minor League Baseball announced a strategic multi-year partnership making it the exclusive home and auto insurance partner of Minor League Baseball. To learn more about Esurance's Call-Up Worthy campaign with Minor League Baseball, visit www.MiLB.com/CallUpWorthy .
