Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack, in partnership with the City of Owen Sound is pleased to announce that construction for the addition of four new Private Suites at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre began on Monday morning. The Private Suites will be located at the South end of the facility behind sections A, B and C in a retrofit project being completed by Graham Design & Construction of Owen Sound.

The project, which is expected to take seven weeks is being funded by the Owen Sound Attack at no expense to the City of Owen Sound or ratepayers, while a revenue sharing model has been agreed upon for use of the additional space. New LED lighting will also replace the old lighting in the south concourse, creating a brighter area for socializing and for other facility users.

"As an organization, we are extremely excited about this enhancement to our facility and what it means for our fans and our franchise moving forward.", stated Brent Fisher, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Attack. "City of Owen Sound officials, Council and Committee members have made this entire process a seamless experience. A positive relationship with their Municipality is vital to the success of any Ontario Hockey League franchise and we are very grateful for the outstanding partnership we have with the City of Owen Sound."

The addition of the private suites is one of several facility upgrades completed by the Owen Sound Attack in recent years. In 2013, the Attack added a new video score clock and sound system for the facility, adding to the excitement for fans that a home game brings. The ongoing enhancements to the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre is part of the Attack Ownership Group's commitment to providing affordable, family friendly entertainment and a strong source of civic pride for citizens in Owen Sound and Bruce-Grey.

"I am pleased to learn of this impressive enhancement to the Bayshore Community Centre," said Mayor Ian Boddy. "The Owen Sound Attack is a vital part of our community, and this investment signifies their commitment to success."

The new suites will consist of two, 6-12 person suites and two, 12-20 person suites. Three of the four suites will be rented on lease terms, while one 12-20 person suite will be available for fans or businesses on a game by game basis or in 3-4 game packages. The Attack will now operate 14 private suites as well as the Molson Canadian Attack Den. Businesses or patrons with inquiries about private suites should contact the Attack Box Office at (519) 371-7452 or email bfisher@attackhockey.com.
