David Buchanan tossed 6.1 shutout IP, Darin Ruf hit two home runs and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (61-41) picked up a 5-1 win over the Louisville Bats (50-52) on Sunday night at Louisville Slugger Field.

Buchanan (7-5) gave up four hits while walking one and fanning two in his 6.1 IP. LHP James Russell (1.2 IP, H, R, ER, K) and RHP Dalier Hinojosa (1.0 IP, H, K) combined to toss the final 2.2 IP for manager Dave Brundage's squad.

With the win, the IronPigs are 20 games over .500 for the first time in franchise history and have set a new high-water mark.

Ruf's two-run blast off of Bats starter Amir Garrett in the top of the first gave the IronPigs an early 2-0 lead.

Garrett (2-2) gave up the two runs on three hits while walking one and fanning two in six innings of work. The southpaw retired the final 16 batters he faced.

In the top of the eighth, an RBI double from Emmanuel Burriss and an RBI single from J.P. Crawford (2-4, RBI) extended the lead for Lehigh Valley to 4-0.

Louisville cut the lead to 4-1 in the home half of the frame with Scott Schebler's solo shot off of Russell.

Ruf (2-4, HR, 3 RBI, 2 R) struck again in the top of the ninth with a solo home run off of RHP Dayan Diaz (1.2 IP, H, R, ER, K). The home runs were Ruf's 11th and 12th of the season.

The Pigs return home to open a three-game set with the Syracuse Chiefs on Monday night at Coca-Cola Park. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. as RHP Jake Thompson (9-5, 2.29) gets the ball for Lehigh Valley against Syracuse RHP Taylor Hill (4-8, 4.25).
