Vasquez Gets Complete-Game Victory

Reading Fightin Phils News Release
Anthony Vasquez (8-3) tossed a complete-game against the Hartford Yard Goats (55-44) on Sunday evening to guide the Fightin Phils (68-33) to a 10-4 win. It's Vasquez's first nine-inning complete game since June 17, 2010 when he pitched for High Desert.
Hartford got a run off Vasquez in the top of the fourth as catcher Ashley Graeter hit a RBI double to take a 1-0 lead. Jake Fox tied the game in the bottom of the fourth with two outs as he hit a home run off Carlos Hernandez (5-7). The home run for Fox was his 17th of the season.
Reading scored five runs off Hernandez in the bottom of the fifth to take a 6-1 lead. Osmel Aguila hit a go-ahead RBI double then Rhys Hoskins hit a two-run double. He now has 90 runs batted in on the season. Dylan Cozens capped off the inning with a two-run single. Hernandez left the game with only recording one out in the inning.
Hartford scored two runs off Vasquez in the top of the sixth. Noel Cuevas hit a RBI triple and Correlle Prime hit a sacrifice fly to cut Reading's lead to 6-3. The Fightin Phils scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to extend their lead to 10-3. Fox hit a RBI single that was followed by a RBI double from KC Serna. Vasquez helped his own cause by hitting a two-run single.
The Fightin Phils home-stand continues on Monday night against the Binghamton Mets. First pitch is at 7:05 pm from FirstEnergy Stadium. Fans can listen to the game on Sports Radio AM 1240/FM 98.5 and fightins.com beginning at 6:35 pm. Fans can also watch the game on MiLB.tv beginning at 7:05 pm.
